AoPS Holidays

There are no classes September 2‐4, October 31, November 20‐27, and December 21‐January 3, 2024.

Who Should Take?

Students are ready for this class if they have mastered square roots and fractional exponents, order of operations, linear equations and inequalities, ratio, and proportion. We recommend that students have experience with factoring quadratics prior to taking this course.

Please note: Our Algebra sequence will likely not match up exactly with your school's. Most students who have completed our Introduction to Algebra A course or a high-level honors Algebra 1 course in school are ready for this class. However, we encourage students to take our Introduction to Counting and Probability class before beginning this course. Visit our Recommendations page for help in choosing the right class.

I can say the class has prepared me substantially for mathematical studies and competitions in the future and provided a well-constructed introduction to higher-level algebra. I enjoyed interacting with the teacher on an intellectual level while he taught the class in an fun and creative way. In addition, the challenging problems students received weekly to complete as homework enhanced our problem solving skills. Overall, this class has been an amazing experience for me, and I can't wait to see what AoPS has in store next!
